Heidi Mitchell is a freelance writer covering health, travel, real estate, and design. She has more than 24 years writing and editing for national publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Esquire, Bloomberg, and New York Magazine, among others. She was a staff editor at a variety of magazines including Rolling Stone, Travel + Leisure, and Town & Country Magazine. Ms. Mitchell has a regular column in the Wall Street Journal as well as at Chicago Magazine, and is a special correspondent for Surface, Travel + Leisure, and Departures. She lives in Chicago and New York with her husband and three children.
