A founding board member of Chicago Ideas, Sonya Jackson is a self-described Executive Producer of ideas that matter. She is a leader in reputation management, giving and social impact with more than twenty-five years of experience as a corporate executive. Her career pivot led her to found Mantra for Good, an organization that unites people to collaborate on projects to improve humanity, build community and impact lives. Ms. Jackson is writer, producer, playwright and activist who uses storytelling, media, technology and live experiences as a force for good. Prior to Mantra for Good, she served as President of the United Airlines Foundation, Managing Director of Corporate and Community Affairs for United Airlines, President of the BP Foundation, Senior Global Business Adviser for BP’s Global Social Investment Business Unit, Executive Director of The Sears-Roebuck Foundation and Assistant Director of the Sara Lee Foundation. Ms. Jackson serves on the board of advisors of the Truman National Security Project/Center for National Policy, is an Advisor to Ignite and an Operating Advisor to L Street Collaborative. Ms. Jackson is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
