Ali Velshi is an MSNBC Anchor and Business Correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. An award-winning journalist, he previously hosted Ali Velshi on Target on Al Jazeera America, and was CNN’s Chief Business Correspondent and the anchor of World Business Today, Your Money and American Morning. Velshi received a National Headliner Award for his report on the auto industry crisis, and his coverage of Chicago’s red-light camera scandal and disabled workers earned two Emmy nominations. Velshi is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the boards of the X-Prize Foundation, Seeds of Peace and the Chicago History Museum. He’s the author of the book Gimme My Money Back and co-authored How to Speak Money. He volunteers weekly with New York’s homeless outreach program.
