Amanda Seales

Comedian & TV Host
Comedian, TV host, content creator and more, Amanda Seales doesn’t just want to make people laugh, she wants to make change. With an uncanny knack for taking serious topics like racism, rape culture, sexism and police brutality and making them relatable with humor, she combines intellectual wit, enigmatic silliness and a pop culture obsession to create a unique style of smart, funny content for the stage and screen. As a comedian, she’s performed standup across the globe as well as written, produced, and starred in the critically acclaimed one-woman shows Mo Betta Wu: Jazz from the 36 Chambers, It’s Complicated and Death of the Diva. Through her production company, DivaWorks, she’s teamed with brands like Toyota and Disney to produce exclusive content, as well as created, written, and hosted award-winning web series for major platforms including Get Your Life (Issa Rae Presents), TIL This Week, The Spark, Funny Style, DivaDiva Ya’ll, and DivaSpeak TV. She’s hosted Mashable’s "Mashies" awards, opened for the legendary Paul Mooney, judged the ABFF & HBO Comedy Wings competition, DJ'd on Good Morning America and been featured on Best Week Ever. She’s been a host or contributor to MTV, Al Jazeera America and MSNBC, but is often best-remembered from an appearance on CNN that went viral when, armed with intelligence, wit, and now-famous facial expressions, she deftly took down a sexist defender of catcalling.Currently, she tours colleges, lecturing on everything from sexism (“Sideye Seminar: Identifying & Defining Everyday Sexism”) to black popular culture (“Musical People: How Black Music Moved the Black Experience”). Alongside pundit Marc Lamont Hill, she created and hosts the monthly comedy show Smart, Funny & Black at The Stand NYC. Designing her own blueprint, Amanda Seales is not just a comic. She’s a force of nature, whose patronus is a Black Panther with wings!
