Eugenia Cheng

Scientist-in-Residence, School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Eugenia Cheng is pure mathematician and concert pianist. She was awarded her Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge and is currently the scientist-in-residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her first book How to Bake Pi: An Edible Explanation of the Mathematics of Mathematics was published in May to widespread acclaim and is being translated into six languages. She will appear on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the fall.
