As versatile as she is legendary, Phylicia Rashad is an actress, a director, an educator, and an extraordinary performing artist who has brought laughter to millions of people around the world. On television, she became a household name portraying "Claire Huxtable" on The Cosby Show, and now appears on Jean Claude Van Johnson and Empire. A force on the stage, she has appeared both on and off Broadway, has directed several productions, been nominated for a Tony award, and was inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame in 2016. She was also the first recipient of the Denzel Washington Chair in Theatre at Fordham University.
