Now in its 10th year, the national August Wilson Monologue Competition, founded by Kenny Leon, features high school students from around the country performing monologues by August Wilson aimed at introducing his visionary work to new generations and nurturing his legacy. Nia Sarfo is senior at Chicago High School for the Arts and placed first in the 2018 Chicago August Wilson Monologue Competition (and 2nd in the national competition).
